Way With Words Transcription

Mags Jackson, one of our stellar Operations Managers, recently received a Way With Words’ certificate acknowledging her “extraordinary effort and time dedicated to superb service”.

Let us introduce Mags to you so that you can learn a bit more about this hard working manager behind her MSN picture.

How long have you been at Way With Words?

I started in May of 2008.

What first brought you to Way With Words?

From the UK I wasn’t allowed to work until I got my ID.  When that eventually happened, I thought about doing something but the thought of commuting, possibly down the N1 filled me with horror.  I saw an ad on Gumtree and applied.  The rest is history.

What did you do prior to Way With Words?

In a previous life I was an estate agent in the UK.  I also taught 10 year old Lebanese children the three Rs in Saudi Arabia

Do you foresee yourself staying on at Way With Words for the long haul?

I don’t know what I’d do with my time if I didn’t work here.  Can’t get rid of me.

What are your primary duties at Way With Words?

How long is a piece of string?

What do you like the most about your job?

The great relationships we have with our transcribers

The least?

Horrid sound files and not meeting deadlines

A funny story relating to work at Way With Words?

When Jackie got her air traffic controller headphones when we were still transcribing.

An “unforgettable” moment at Way With Words?

When we were still transcribing in-house it was always a matter of great mirth when someone would walk away from their PC still attached to headphones.

Your nationality?

Where did you grow up?

Wales, Zambia

Where have you lived?

Wales, London, Zambia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa

How do you fill your spare time?

What spare time?

Can you share a bit about your family? My husband is a brilliant sculptor and I have two handsome sons, a dog Jack who is a joy, and a whole family of worms!

A couple interesting and unusual things about you?

I’ve been married 4 times. (It’s not my fault that everyone wanted to marry me.)

Where do you hope to be in 10 years?

On earth with some grandchildren :*)
